At just about midnight in the east, Patrick Kane took a pass on a 2-on-1 rush from Jonathan Towes in the 2nd overtime and buried a one timer past Jonathan Quick to send the Chicago Blackhawks back to the Stanley Cup finals.
After the Los Angeles Kings’ Mike Richards tied the game up with ten seconds left in the third period, the two teams exchanged a few scoring chances in the first OT, but none found the back of the net.
In the 2nd OT, the play started to get a bit sloppy and each team had a few odd man rushes. But at 11:40 of the 2nd OT, Patrick Kane completed the hat trick, and propelled the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup Finals with THIS GOAL….
The Chicago Blackhawks will face off against the Boston Bruins Wednesday night at 8pm in game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. This matchup is the first between two of the “Original 6” since 1979, when the New York Rangers lost to the Montreal Canadiens.
