If you are new to placing bets online then you may find it useful to use a betting calculator to help you. Calculating odds, and working out how much you want to bet, can be complicated. If you find a good betting calculator online you can remove some of these complications. This helps you to concentrate on the enjoyment of placing a bet.
In this article we are going to take a look at what a betting calculator is and how you can use one to help you when you are betting online. We are also going to give some helpful hints as to what to look for in a sportsbook when you start out betting online.
Starting out by finding the right sportsbook
Before you can even think about using a betting calculator you need to find the right sportsbook for you. For instance, if you are placing a bet in America there are some restrictions in place with regards to the sites you can bet at. You need to do some research to find bookmaking sites that cater to American players. There are other considerations to think about too. You should consider things such as new player bonuses on offer, the variety of sports you can bet on and the odds on offer. You should also take a look at some of the genuine player reviews before you start betting at a sportsbook. You need to know if you are likely to encounter any problems before you spend your money.
Calculating odds and potential winnings is not always an easy thing to do. If you find good betting calculator software online you can get help to make the task a lot easier. One of the things you will need to do, if you use a betting calculator, is input the odds. This can be done in different ways, depending on which betting calculator you use. You may need to input odds as a fraction, as a decimal or as a moneyline. If you need to convert odds to a specific format you can use an online odds converter to do this. Some betting calculators only help you to complete calculations for simple win bets; this means that you are betting just on the outcome of one game. If you want to calculate more complicated odds, such as those for accumulator bets, you need to find a calculator that can help you to do this.
If you are new to betting online then the most important thing to do initially is find a sportsbook that suits your requirements; whether that be a sportsbook which caters for American bettors, one which offers generous bonuses or one which has the best odds for the sports you want to bet on. Once you have chosen the sportsbook you want to use it’s a good idea to find a betting calculator to help you work out your odds and potential winnings.
Week four in the NFL season is underway with only two games that have a touchdown or higher spread. There should be some high scoring affairs like the Colts and Jaguars in London (9:30 AM ET) and the Saints in San Diego taking on the Chargers. If you like defense (or terrible offense) the Seahawks travel to NY (actually NJ) to take on the Jets and the Titans will be in Houston to take on a JJ Watt-less Texans.

The New York Jets have been the butt of many jokes for almost half a century. They have not won a Super Bowl since Joe Namath famously guaranteed a win in 1968. At this moment, Geno Smith is penciled in as their starting quarterback as they have yet to sign free agent QB (and last year’s starter) Ryan Fitzpatrick. A quick look at the Super Bowl odds shows the Jets a 40 to 1 longshot to win Super Bowl LI. Could they defy the odds and win it all? Read the rest of this entry »
While Patriots QB Tom Brady was able to avoid a suspension last season (making him a scoop in Fanstasy Football leagues in the process), New England wasn’t so lucky this year as “Deflategate” came back to haunt them. Brady will miss the first four weeks of the 2016-2017 NFL season, but Vegas doesn’t seem to mind. NFL odds makers still favor the New England Patriots over all other teams as they sit at a 15 to 2 favorite to win Super Bowl LI. You’d think losing a franchise quarterback for 1/4 of the regular season would diminish a team’s odds of winning it all, but there are several reasons why the Patriots are still the team to beat. Many famous sports stars have enjoyed success marketing themselves in the world of games. Often, sports players will act as the cover stars for games to promote them. Examples of this are Lionel Messi on the front of the FIFA games, and the EA sports game – Rory McIlroy PGA Tour. The famous ex-basketball star, Shaquille O’Neal, has also offered his name to slot machines and blackjack. With Kobe Bryant about to retire, could he follow the same path as his “frenemy” and former teammate?
What makes branching out to casino games the perfect yet untrodden path for a retired sports star? At the moment the online casino business is booming, with slot machines being one of the most popular games around. The modern slot machine is designed in such a way that makes it ideal to be sponsored by stars, TV shows, or films, as each slot machine has its own theme. The design of the slot machine is very much based around its theme, so the Jurassic World game at 32Red slots uses dinosaur symbols on the reels, and the Incredible Hulk slot at Slot-Mania features cut scenes from the film along with Hulk-themed icons. The 2016 US election is among us. In the USA, you can’t go a minute on social media without hearing anything about the upcoming election, and the actual voting isn’t going to happen for another nine months! This year we see a combination of candidates like we’ve never seen before. In the right corner, weighing in at around 300 pounds, we have Donald Trump. In the left corner, we see Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The odds at any online sportsbook are pointing strongly towards Trump winning the primary election for the Republicans, so it’s likely he goes up against Hillary Clinton or Sanders (it’s most likely to be Clinton). The Carolina Panthers are a 5.5 point and -200 (bet $200 to win $100) favorite over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50, and rumors are the public thinks they’ll roll. Anywhere from 70-80% of the money in Vegas is being bet on Cam Newton’s squad. Maybe you don’t have a rooting interest in either team, though, and want a little more action on the game than your average box pool. If that’s the case, some of these obscure prop bets are for you. The Denver Broncos come into the Super Bowl with a 12-4 regular season record, and a 2-0 postseason record, putting them at 14-4 on the year. That record is good for the best in the entire AFC, but sadly, in the NFC, their competitors beat them out with a 17-1 total record. The Broncos are a strange team to have in the Super Bowl because throughout the season they haven’t really looked “spectacular”. Their veteran leadership has won them games time and time again, and they’ve barely scathed by a few teams. This quality is what makes them a dark horse with the best Super Bowl odds.
