The 2013 NBA draft class is being called the weakest group of prospects in the past decade. There isn’t a clear-cut #1 pick, and almost every scout has a differing opinion on just about every prospect.

With that being said, the bad NBA teams will have to make due with what they have.

So here are my top 11 NBA draft prospects for the 2013 draft.

Even though the NBA playoffs started this weekend, the basketball topic getting the most publicity right now is 14-year-old Seventh Woods’ mixtape. Woods is a 6’1” freshman guard from Columbia, South Carolina.

First off, props to this kid’s mom for naming him Seventh. That is an awesome name.

Secondly, this kid is an elite athlete. I mean top-notch. And this kid is only a freshman. He’s only going to get stronger, quicker, and more athletic as he grows. Right now, he’s already probably one of the best athletes in the country. It’s hard to imagine how athletic he will be in a year or two.

Louisville won this year’s National Championship. Now let’s look at the 2013-2014 season.

Even as a die-hard fan of college basketball, I will be the first to admit that I do not have a favorite team. I’m from New Jersey and Rutgers basketball hasn’t been very good, so the hometown team favoritism is out the window. I just never got fully behind one team. There are certain teams I root for, but none that I can call my own like I can in the NFL, NBA, or MLB (Giants, Nets, Yankees). With that being said, I have never liked the University of Kentucky. I do not have a good reason to why I don’t like the school, I just don’t. However, if I had to pick an early favorite to win next season’s NCAA title, it’d have to be the Wildcats.

Louisville-To-Play-Michigan-For-National-Championship-650x406

The Louisville Cardinals are you’re 2013 college basketball National Champions. Louisville defeated Michigan 82-76. After a crazy regular season where we saw the #1 team in the country fall numerous times, seems kind of wrong that the top overall seed in the tournament took home the trophy. However, the Cardinals deserved it 100%.

Sports really are great sometimes. At Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, the Nebraska Cornhusker football team held their annual Spring Game in front of over 60,000 people. The best moment of the day was when coach Bo Pelini subbed seven-year-old Jack Hoffman into the game. Hoffman is on a two-week break from chemotherapy, because he is battling with cancer.

The craziest college basketball season we have seen in ages comes to an end tonight as Louisville and Michigan meet in a heavyweight battle for the National Championship. This game has so many interesting matchups to watch. Off the court though, it is a game of conference bragging rights. The Big 10 overtook the Big East as the best conference in the country this year, at least so far, and the winner of this game should put an end to that argument. Here’s how I see tonight’s National Championship game playing out.

Brittney Griner Dunk

On Tuesday, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said that he would draft Baylor’s Brittney Griner if she was the best player left on their board. Here is Cuban’s exact quote. mark-cuban

“If she is the best on the board, I will take her,” Cuban said before the Mavs’ Tuesday  night game against the Los Angeles Lakers. “I’ve thought about it. I’ve thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I’d lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance, and it’s not like the likelihood of any late-50s draft pick has a good chance of making it.”

“She’d still have to make the team,” Cuban said. “I’m not going to carry her just to carry her. I don’t think, anyways. But I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to giving her the opportunity.”

Many people’s initial reaction to these quotes are, “Are you kidding me Cuban? She’s a girl. No way she could compete in the NBA.”

While I see these arguments as valid, I have to disagree. I actually think Brittney Griner could be a valuable member of a struggling NBA franchise.

Before you guys tweet or email me death threats, let me explain myself.
